Cement silos fall into various types based on mobility, structure and unloading method. Each boasts distinct features to suit different construction sites, storage capacity and powder materials.

1. Classification by Mobility (Most Commonly Used Classification)

Fixed Cement Silos: Firmly mounted on concrete foundation with stable structure and tight sealing. Storage capacity: 50-2000 tons. Effectively prevent material dampness and caking. Ideal for long-term use at concrete batching plants, asphalt mixing stations and cement factories.

Mobile Cement Silos: Equipped with towing device and hydraulic legs for easy transfer and fast setup. No concrete foundation needed, cutting time and cost. Capacity ranges 20-100 tons. Flexible for temporary construction, road and bridge maintenance projects.

2. Classification by Structural Form

Vertical Conical Bottom Cement Silo: Mainstream design with 30°-60° cone base. Materials discharge automatically by gravity. Low failure rate and steady feeding. Suitable for common powder materials and regular construction projects.

Horizontal Cement Silo: The silo body is a horizontally placed cylinder with a screw conveyor at the bottom. It occupies little space, can be stacked, and is suitable for construction sites with limited space.

Assembled Cement Silo: Modular bolt-connected steel plate structure. Easy split transport and on-site assembly. Designed for capacity over 500 tons, applicable to mountainous areas and sites with traffic restrictions.

3. Classification by Unloading Method

Gravity Unloading Cement Silos: Discharge by material gravity, controlled by manual or pneumatic valves. Low cost and easy maintenance. Fit for well-flowing materials like cement and fly ash.

Screw Unloading Cement Silos: Mechanical forced discharge avoids material bridging and blockage. Suitable for poor-fluidity and easy-caking powder such as mineral powder and slag powder. Matches horizontal silos and small-angle cone silos.
